Monroe is a quiet bedroom community located on the Hoosac Range, within the Berkshire Mountains in Franklin County, Massachusetts.  It is the smallest town in Franklin County.  The town was settled in 1800 and was incorporated in 1822.  The town was named for President Monroe.

Monroe Massachusetts was home to 93 residents, according to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau.  This included 23 families and 43 households.
