An industrial town, Orange was home to the first automobile factory in the country. 
The automobile company Grout was located in Orange in 1900.

Orange hosts an annual canoe race, the River Rat Race, in April.  The race attracts thousands of visitors to town.

Orange Massachusetts was home to 7,518 residents, according to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau.  This included 3,045 households and 1,979 families.  The average family size was 3.02 and the average household size was 2.46.  Orange is comprised of 36 total square miles.
