Greenland Real Estate

Greenland is located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire.  It lies completely within the Piscataqua River watershed.  Greenland is drained by the Winnicut River and is bordered by Great Bay on the northwest.

Greenland was one of the earliest settlements in New Hampshire.  It was incorporated in 1721.   One of the oldest standing brick houses in New Hampshire was built in Greenland by Captain Samuel Weeks in 1710.  This house survived the earthquake of 1755. 

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Greenland’s population at the time was 3,208 people.  This included 1,204 households and 892 families.  The average family size was 3.07 and the average household size was 2.65.  Greenland is comprised of 10.5 square miles of land and 2.8 square miles of water. 

Greenland Real Estate and Homes:  In 2000, there were 1,244 homes in Greenland and an average of 118.6 homes (houses / condos) per square mile.  In 2007, it was estimated that real estate in Greenland was comprised of a total of 1,381 homes.  This included 1,057 single family houses and 318 multi-unit homes.
