Greenland is located in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. It lies completely within the Piscataqua River watershed. Greenland is drained by the Winnicut River and is bordered by Great Bay on the northwest. Greenland was one of the earliest settlements in New Hampshire. It was incorporated in 1721. One of the oldest standing brick houses in New Hampshire was built in Greenland by Captain Samuel Weeks in 1710. This house survived the earthquake of 1755.
