Andover Real Estate

Andover is a mountainous town located in Windsor County, Vermont.  It is surrounded by Ludlow, Weston, Chester, Londonberry and Windham. It is 20 miles from Windsor, 37 miles from Bennington and 68 miles from Montpelier.  The Terrible and Markum mountains are located in the western part of Andover.

Andover was settled in 1776, and was most likely named after Andover, Connecticut.  The town’s western portion was made into the town of Weston in 1799.

According to the 2000 U.S. Census Bureau, Andover was home to 548 residents.  This included 215 households and 147 families.  The average family size was 2.70 and the average household size was 2.31.  Andover is comprised of 28.8 square miles of land.  

Andover Real Estate and Homes:  In 2000, there were 496 homes and an average of 12 homes (houses and condos) per square mile.  16% of Andover homes are occupied by renters.  In 2006, it was estimated that 124 homes in Andover were vacation properties.
